What should I expect?

If you choose to submit your narrative letter and resume, if your credentials appear to match our client's criteria, you will be contacted by email. A Creative-Leadership, Inc. (CLI) Associate has spent time with the respective potential employers learning the details about the position and the characteristics, skills and background of the ideal candidate. In addition, the CLI Associate has learned about the company culture, the products and/or services and how this position fits into the overall company. The available information will be shared during the interview process. If your resume is selected as a potential candidate, you will be contacted by a CLI Associate. You will then go through a series of interviews prior to having an opportunity to meet with a potential employer. These interviews are a necessary part of the selection process.

What about these interviews?

The first interview is the screening interview and it is conducted by telephone. This interview can require up to 45 minutes of your time. A CLI Associate will ask questions about your resume, your work and salary history and your ability to meet the potential employer's specific criteria. General information about the position, job responsibilities and compensation will be shared with you. As part of this interview, you may be asked 8 questions from one of our structured interviews. Some candidates following the screener will be selected to participate in the next interview. If you are not selected you will receive written notice. The second interview will consist of another structured interview similar to the one administered during the screener. This interview, also conducted by telephone, can require 90 minutes of your time, or in some rare situations, even more. Both this interview, and the structured screener, are validated and based upon thorough research of outstanding performers. If you are not selected for the next interview, you will receive a written notice. Those candidates selected will have a one-to-one interview with a CLI Associate. Depending upon location, this interview will either be in person or by videoconferencing. Again, you will need to allocate time for this interview, usually 60 minutes, although some will require more time. Ample time will be allocated during this interview to discuss the opportunity and the company. In our process, the final interview is typically conducted at the potential employer's location. We have all finalists for the position, usually 3 people, go through the interviews on the same day. Most of these interviews begin with a tour of the facility followed by a one-to-one with your future supervisor and one or two team interviews. These team interviews consist of future peers and/or direct reports. Finally, you will be asked to complete a "situational activity, usually a written exercise. This will require the better part of a day.If you are the candidate selected by the company, you will need to submit to CLI your business/professional references. The exact number and the relation of the references will vary depending upon the position. You will also be asked to sign a release so that CLI can conduct a complete background check. Most of the background checks performed will check and verify past employment and salary, college degrees, Department of Motor Vehicles, a social security number verification and personal financial history and a criminal and civil conviction search. Sometimes our clients also administer a drug test post offer.Throughout the search a CLI Associate will attempt to keep you updated on your progress and the overall time-line for the search. Please feel free to contact your CLI Associate with your questions.
