Vision

Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.”

Another way of expressing this Bible verse is, “without a vision the people perish.” What is the vision for your company? And, you not only have to have a vision, but if you are truly a leader, you share the vision with your team.

Outstanding performers are seeking companies who have mission and vision statements. They not only want to be part of a company with these documents, but part of a company that lives what is written in the documents. If you do not have a shared vision, your company will consist of people who are there to garner a paycheck until they can find a better place. Or they are people who just want to get a paycheck without any commitment. Either way, you lose. So, have you written your vision statement yet?

Vision Statements are ideal for sharing with your top candidates. It really helps a candidate to make a decision. No matter how strong the candidate may be technically, if they do not want to share your vision you do not want to hire them. In Proverbs 13:20 it is written, “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.” The wording in The Message is: “Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.”

Who will be attracted to your company by your vision? Wise people? Or fools? It’s really all up to you.
